Although you may have been diagnosed with endometriosis, more than likely you have been dealing with chronic inflammation resulting in symptoms like pain, fatigue, anxiety and others for some time. That diagnosis may have been a validation of your symptoms, but where do you go from here knowing you have things that you want to do in your already busy life and have this illness to "juggle"?
Do you suffer from anxiety because of the pressure to hang out with friends and family when you don't feel well, don't know if there is a way to get better, or the pressure to constantly do more things in your already full schedule?
Do you suffer from constant pain and achiness, but wonder when it will stop or are so tired and exhausted knowing you have so much to do, but no energy to do it? The hassle of it all can make you feel lonely because no one listens or understands what you're going through so you suffer in silence, frustrated because what you have been doing to control your symptoms isn't working or ashamed because you feel lazy and useless when you can't get everything done.
My guess is you have spoken to your doctor or specialist about your pain, anxiety, fatigue and other symptoms, but they did some tests or not, and gave you your diagnosis without any true guidance. Some health care practitioners may have simply wanted to "fix it" with medication and/or surgery and seem apathetic to how dealing with the pain makes you feel and how it affects your day to day life.
If this is you, know that it is possible to get the help and the support you need to reduce your pain, fatigue, overwhelm, anxiety, and other symptoms so you can reclaim your body and start truly living again, but it starts with taking that first step to care for yourself and your needs first, and then learn to create the balance needed to take care of everything important in your life.
